During last year’s quarantine I’ve been rewatching two of my favorite movies, « American Psycho » by Mary Harron and the Shining by Stanley Kubrick. These movies have always amazed me by their stories, the meaning, the music, the set, the colors… I found a connection between the two main characters, and I’ve started to imagine my own narrative. My idea was to show the evolution of a person, a transformation and descent to hell taking place somewhere between the imaginary and the real, a dream that becomes a nightmare…
From the tailoring silhouettes with square shoulders inspired by the Art Déco Architecture of the Chrysler Building to the hybrid shapes influenced by the Imaginary world of Matthew Barney and the sinister print inspired by the joyful universe of the American choreographer Busby Berkeley.
My collection will bring you through a disturbing dream.
